Quarantine Day 9: Schedules and Plans Galore

Day 9. Today was almost like every other Sunday, we had a breakfast of bacon and egg (although prepared at home instead of by First Watch). We grocery shopped and meal prepped and are now ending the day with some time by the pool. However, in addition to all of this, we also created daily schedules for Henley and Macie for the week. I start remote working full-time tomorrow so the girls will need something to work on, mostly independently, while I have video or phone calls. I really wasn’t interested in doing this to be honest, I was going to just ride the week out and wait for Henley’s teacher instruction which starts March 30th but in reality, that’s a setup for disaster.

Henley woke up this morning excited for school work starting tomorrow so I knew we needed a plan. Our district has a portal the kids can log into to access all of the apps she uses in the classroom. I also found some writing worksheets on Pinterest. I found a BrainQuest book for Preschool Ages for Macie to work on her writing and letters. I figured we would have time set aside for Osmo, crafts or coloring, and some downtime or playtime.

The girls have a table in their playroom and we’ve posted the schedules on the wall complete with check boxes (my girls love a check box). They also have a kids Alexa so they will be able to set timers for each activity. I’m optimistic this will mostly work but I won’t be surprised if they interrupt me on a call or meeting.

I hope your week runs smoothly and let’s continue social distancing to flatten the curve. I can’t wait to hear some good news regarding this virus. Oh and fingers crossed I get some actual work done this week!!
